On my 24th birthday, I was hanging out with some people from work. A super trendy, gorgeous girl, asked me "what is your passion?"
I was a young mom, struggling in my marriage, and I was stumped!
I did not know who I was anymore. Besides being a mother and a wife, I simply did not have an answer for her.
Now, I will say, I have always loved photography, but after years of rediscovering myself, I figured out that it truly was IT for me.
Years later, I purchased a camera from a pawn shop. I was so proud because I saved and bought it myself. I dove
into this art that has consumed my life. And I haven't looked back since. By the way, I was awful. I shot in jpeg and on auto.
I had family telling me I would never make it!
I dove in! I learned everything I could from Youtube and online groups. I aim to learn something new every day. Learning
manual and off-camera flash helped gain some momentum in a highly saturated area. As well as learning to edit in a
style that sets me aside from others here.
I can say now, nine years after that pretty girl asked me such a simple question, a question I could not answer, I have passion!
I have found what truly makes me happy! What keeps me sane when life gets crazy. Because being a mom and a wife (of 17 years)
is wonderful, though not always easy. Photography is my outlet. My passion!
